Battambang: Cambodia's Creative and Historical Hub
Beyond the temples of Angkor, discover Battambang's thriving arts scene, historic colonial streets, and the famous bamboo train.
A Haven for Artists and Creatives
Battambang is Cambodia's second-largest city, yet it retains a laid-back, small-town charm. In recent years, it has emerged as the country's leading creative hub, home to numerous art galleries, independent cafes, and the world-famous Phare Ponleu Selpak art school and circus.
Walking through the city center, you will see beautiful examples of French colonial architecture alongside modern murals and galleries.

Riding the Bamboo Train
One of the most unique experiences in Battambang is a ride on the 'Norry' or bamboo train. It is a simple wooden platform powered by a small engine that runs on the old railway tracks. It offers an exhilarating, breezy ride through the countryside.
At sunset, make your way to the Phnom Sampeau cave to witness millions of bats emerging in a continuous stream—a spectacular natural phenomenon.
